Following a demanding period of fixtures and results that did not reflect our potential, the team delivered a performance that demonstrated clear progression and capability.

In the first half, we controlled significant phases of the game through composed possession and precise one-touch passing. Despite conceding against the run of play, we regrouped effectively and continued to apply sustained pressure. After creating several opportunities to equalise, Connor Drake executed an excellent individual move, navigating through multiple defenders before finishing confidently into the top-right corner. Our defensive structure remained disciplined throughout, restricting the opposition’s attacking threat. We then took a deserved lead when Liam White converted with an outstanding strike from distance.

The second half saw a more balanced contest, with solid midfield contributions across the pitch. Wirral levelled the score following a contentious decision regarding whether the ball had gone out of play. Nevertheless, the team remained composed and finished strongly, continuing to create chances that, on another occasion, would likely have secured the victory.

Overall, this was a highly encouraging team performance and a point that reflects our efforts. Maintaining this standard will undoubtedly lead to positive results in forthcoming fixtures.
